$5,000

So I am sorry about the whole posting no pictures thing. Hopefully you will forgive me. I got a laptop for Christmas...it has been SO SO SO SO nice to have at school! I can accomplish so much more during my breaks. Anyhoo...I don't have any pictures on my laptop. They are all on the computer at home. So, sorry. Hopefully we will figure out what to do. But for now you just get my ramblings...I know...I would prefer pictures too. Too bad!
My presentation on the Muscular System went fabulously! It was a lot of work, but so much fun. One of the greatest things is that I am DONE! I'm glad mine wasn't at the end of the semester...yikes! Better to get these things done and over with.
I am finding that school is not so intimidating anymore. I am fitting in with the flow of students and am not feeling so awkward being older...not that I am super old mind you! But there are a lot of 18, 19, & 20 year olds who are a lot farther along than me. It doesn't bother me anymore. I don't mind being older. It is kinda nice. (Not that I'm old! I'm just reaffirming that to myself!)
Man, now I feel old...
I went to the Stress lab yesterday. It is on campus & I needed to visit it for my stress management class. Ummmm...can you say FABULOUSNESS???? They have this massage chair that will massage your whole body, including your arms! It is amazing. Someday i hope to own a chair like that. I only need to save up $5,000. It's cheaper than a car =) Maybe it will be my graduation present. And maybe Matt will just smile & nod and let me think whatever I want to think. And he will be thinking, "Not in this lifetime lady!"
Anyone want to donate to my massage chair fund??? I accept cash, checks, and chocolate =)

Homework

Last night was amazing....
I had all of my homework done before the kids even got home from school!!
I know...I'm amazing!
The only thing I had left to finish (so I guess I'm lying about the all done part) was one math problem. I had gone over it a million times & still couldn't figure out what was wrong. So Matt, my brilliant husband, took a look at the problem and started walking me through it....and of course it was one of those simple mathematical errors that people make. I was pushing the wrong button on my calculator. Sheesh...
At least I knew how t0 do the problem though!
Math is a brighter spot in my day this semester. My professor is pretty cool. And she used to teach Junior High. A definite plus because she knows how to dumb it down for us! =)
All of our homework is online, which is weird, but cool. It takes you step by step which is nice.
She is also starting from the front of the book, unlike the crazy man whose math class I was in last semester. He thought it would be fun to start at the end of the book and confuse everyone to pieces. Really dude???
Another thing is she has a set of practice problems online to do for each section. The nice thing about this is that if I don't understand how to do a problem, it will walk me through step by step. So nice because I am learning and totally understanding things this time around. Plus it helps that I don't have to annoy Matt for hours in the evening struggling with math homework. I only need help occasionally, so it is nice he still will help me after dealing with the crazy psycho woman he spent the evenings with last semester. =) I love him!

Mighty Muscles

So, I am doing a lesson plan on muscles for my Health Ed in the Elementary School class. I am SO excited & am only nervous about the fact that I am not nervous....hmmm...
I am doing my leeson plan for kindergarten and am wondering if anyone has any good ideas. I am doing a Superhero theme & will be presenting it to my class on Wednesday. Which means, if you have any good ideas I need them PRONTO! I will be working all weekend on this & will let you know how it goes after I present it. I am the second person to present in th class so I am kinda glad to be getting this out of the way. I would rather have this stress now then in the middle or end of the semester when all of thsoe crazy tests start popping up in my classes!

Light-Bright

You can score some seriously sweet deals on led Christmas lights right now. We will have one bright and shiny house next year =)
We LOVE LOVE LOVE driving around and looking at Christmas lights. Well we came home one night and I realized that we are SO lame. We had one strand of white lights on our house....it was slightly pathetic since we LOVE Christmas lights. So We have been scoping out the after Christmas sales & Matt brought home some lights for me tonight. They were all led (so highly efficient!) and 90% off! I know right!?!?!?!?!? And led lights are expensive, but not when you can get them for $1.20 a box!
Sigh...I love Christmas time. Why is it over already???? Oh yeah, so we could score some sweet deals on lights for next year =)

School

I just went to my math class. I think I will enjoy it...well enjoy it as much as I could any math class. It will be hard, but I think I will really like my professor, so that gives me oodles of hope to survive on for the time being.
I had a hard time sleeping last night. I am passing another kidney stone...say what???? I know, right??? I even had a dream in one of the blissful moments of sleep that I snagged, about me needing to exercise. I read somewhere that exercise might help a stone pass more quickly...so even my stone is tormenting my dreams! I really wanted to dream about me and a mountain of See's chocolates, and a REALLY good book, and a bed with mountains of pillows that I could snuggle up in. Sigh...that would be the life!
Alas, I am still dealing with the pain. Thankfully I have some pain meds that will take the edge off and not make me loopy, cause I still have two more classes to go.
I am taking 13 credits this semester & my classes are
Aerobics Level 2
Math 1050
Health Ed in the Elementary School
Stress Management (I heard it was life changing...I'll let you know if it is)
Guidance-Development Theory (I will be working 2 hours in the University's preschool for this class also...I am pretty much excited about this...cause I LOVE working with little kids!)
The kids started school also...I was kinda sad to drop them off this morning, but the constant throbbing in my kidney made my brain sorta useless, so I didn't have the energy to dwell on them leaving me.
Isabelle has a "Great to be Eight" fireside in a couple of weeks. It is for all of the kids who are turning 8 this year and will be baptized. I cannot believe she is almost old enough to be baptized!!!! Where did my little pumpkin go??? She is also getting pretty bossy, which is annoying, but Ben is dealing with it. He is like Matt and lets things roll off his back pretty easy. Those lucky guys! So yeah, we totally have a mini Emily & mini Matt running around the house! My mother cursed me with a daughter just like me! Thankfully I am also very sweet =) and cute =) and lovable =) Sigh...I love my mini me...
(She also has Matt's ears that stick out and are absolutely adorable & I love pulling her hair back so I can see them. They are cute enough to eat. Ear soup anyone?)
